Our ingestion engine uses Optical Character Recognition (OCR) and Natural Language Processing (NLP) to read that file like a human would.

Method 2: Google Drive Integration
We know your files live in the cloud. That's why we built a native integration with Google Drive.
With one click, you can browse your Drive folders directly from our dashboard. No need to download the file to your desktop first. Just pick the file, grant permission, and watch the magic happen.
Method 3: The "LinkedIn Screenshot" Hack
This is our users' favorite feature. Sometimes you don't have a resume file. But you almost certainly have a LinkedIn profile.
LinkedIn makes it notoriously hard to export a clean PDF. So we built a workaround using Vision AI.
How it works
You simply take screenshots of your LinkedIn profile on your phone or desktop. Upload those images to Magic Resume. Our Vision AI reads the pixels, extracts the text, and rebuilds your career history from the images alone.
Method 4: Build from Scratch (The Guided Way)
If you truly have nothing—maybe you are a student or switching careers entirely—we make manual entry painless.
Instead of empty boxes, we use Wizard Mode. We ask you simple questions: "What was your job title?" "What were 3 things you did daily?"
As you type, our Inference Engine (see our other blog post!) suggests high-impact bullet points in real-time, effectively writing the resume for you as you go.
Your Data, Your Control
We know that importing data requires trust. That's why our system is designed with Privacy First principles.
When you import a file (PDF, Drive, or Image), it is processed in ephemeral memory. We extract the text structure, map it to your session, and then discard the source file. We don't store your old PDFs; we only store the structured data you choose to keep.
